When Joe Powell walked into a proverbial hornet's nest in the seventh inning, Ty Harrington's message to his senior reliever wasn't anything special.
On the contrary, it was rather simple.
"He (Harrington) told me, 'Joe, get a ground ball. That's what we need,'" the senior said.
Powell had a different idea — although it was just as effective.
After being called upon from the bullpen with the bases loaded, no outs and Texas State's two-run lead in serious jeopardy, Powell struck out not one, not two but all three batters Texas A&M-Corpus Christi sent to the plate against him.
