For a fair majority of Tuesday's clash between Texas State and UTSA, it wasn't unreasonable to think that the winner would have to score 20 runs.
Honestly, that's not hyperbole.
Yet, if not for Cody Lovejoy's hustle, Jonathan Ortega's arm and Tanner Hill's chicanery, the Bobcats' huge offensive night may not have been enough to beat the rival Roadrunners. That combination resulted in the most important play of Texas State's 13-10 victory over UTSA at Bobcat Ballpark.
With the game tied at 10 in the seventh inning, the Bobcats (19-10), who didn't exactly turn in a clean defensive sheet on Tuesday night (read: three errors), executed perfectly after an all-out effort by center fielder Jaylen Hubbard went awry.
