College Athletics: Texas State posts high four-year APR scores in latest release

When the NCAA releases the APR scores for every program across the country in late April, those inside the Darren Casey Athletic Administration Complex are usually in a good mood.

Because over the past seven academic years, administrators have had something to smile about. The 2014-2015 round was no different as each of Texas State’s 14 athletic teams posted multi-year academic progress rates of 953 or higher, including perfect marks from the women’s golf, women’s tennis and women’s cross country teams.

The academic progress rate, or APR, is an annual report card by the NCAA that measures eligibility, graduation and retention each term to provide a clear picture of the academic performance for each team in every sport.
