SAN MARCOS, Texas - Texas State's Calvin Ross is playing in the 119th U.S. Amateur Golf Championships at the Pinehurst Resort and Country Club from Aug. 12-18 in Pinehurst, N.C.
He becomes the second current Bobcat to play in a U.S. Amateur Championship, joining Logan Lockwood, who played in the 2018 event.
Ross qualified for this year's U.S. Amateur Championship after he was the medalist at the Ledges Golf Club in York, Maine on July 15. He finished the York qualifier with a 36-hole score of 5-under par after shooting a 69 in the first round and a 70 in the second round.
