SAN MARCOS, Texas – Wednesday night in Strahan Arena saw the Texas State (10-14, 4-8 Sun Belt) stun Sun Belt Conference leading App State (19-5, 10-2 Sun Belt) 63-56 to extend the team's winning streak to three games. It was also the program's 1,400th all-time victory.
Davion Sykes recorded his second double-double in three games with a game-high 17 points and 11 rebounds. The Duncanville, Texas native was 7-for-11 from the field and knocked down 3-of-4 free throw attempts.
Coming off the bench, Jordan Mason scored 12 points behind two made three-pointers.
