PENSACOLA, Fla. – With five Bobcats in double-figures for scoring, No. 11 seed Texas State took down No. 14 seed Georgia State, 81-76, in the first round of the 2023 Hercules Tires Sun Belt Basketball Championship at the Pensacola Bay Center on Tuesday.
Drue Drinnon (16 points), Jordan Mason (15), Tyrel Morgan (14), Mason Harrell (13) and Nate Martin (13) all had 13+ points in the opening round over the Panthers (10-21, 3-15 Sun Belt). The quintet scored 24 of their combined 71 points at the free throw line as the Bobcats finished the night 24-of-28 at the line.
