Bobcats drop three-set match with Jaguars to conclude Alabama trip

MOBILE, Ala. — Twenty-four hours after picking up its first Sun Belt Conference win on the season, the Texas State volleyball program were upended by South Alabama in three sets on Saturday night.

The opening phases of the first set were a back-and-forth battle with neither team able to pull more than one point ahead until and combined on a block to make it 11-9, Bobcats. However, South Alabama (9-5, 2-0) went on a 9-2 run to take an 18-13 lead. The Bobcats (5-10, 1-1) fought back to cut its deficit to three at 21-18, but the Jaguars answered with a 4-0 run to end the set.
