Everett Withers decided quickly on a new defensive line coach, but he made an intriguing choice to fill the vacancy.
Three days after the news broke that Vince Oghobaase had accepted a position with the San Francisco 49ers, Texas State hired Antoine Smith to oversee its defensive line, a source within the football program confirmed to the Daily Record on Wednesday afternoon. The Bobcats have yet to announce the move.
Smith, who spent two seasons as the defensive line coach at James Madison, was fired back in December as part of an overhaul of Withers' defensive staff.
