NEW ORLEANS — Texas State track and field student-athletes Alyssa Wilson and Brian West were acknowledged by the Sun Belt as the conference's Women's Field Performer of the Year and Men's Newcomer of the Year, respectively, the league announced Tuesday morning.
Wilson becomes the first Texas State women's field student-athlete to earn the league's Women's Field Performer of the Year since Naomi Ferdinand following the 2020 Women's Indoor Track and Field season. West is the first Texas State track and field student-athlete to be selected as the conference's Men's Newcomer of the Year.
