SAN MARCOS – The Texas State softball team (25-21, 13-8 Sun Belt) managed to scatter just three hits in a 3-0 shutout loss to the Troy Trojans (35-16, 17-6 Sun Belt) on Friday evening at Bobcat Softball Stadium.
KEY MOMENTS
- Texas State put each of the first two batters on base in the bottom of the first inning with a pair of walks, however, the Cats were unable to capitalize on the opportunity as the next three batters were retired via sacrifice bunt, strike out, and fly out.
- Troy opened the scoring in the top of the second inning with an RBI double from sophomore infielder Hope Hernandez.
