MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Texas State baseball team saw its season come to an end Thursday morning with a 4-2 loss to Troy in an elimination game at Riverwalk Stadium in the Sun Belt Conference Championship.
With the result, the Bobcats concluded the year with a 27-31 record while the Trojan improved to 38-20.
Picking up the win was Noah Thigpen (3-1) after throwing 2.1 scoreless innings with three strikeouts and three walks. Matthew Tippie (2-2) took the loss after giving up two runs on two hits and punching out two.
Austin Eaton started and struck out five in five innings but also surrendered two runs on six hits and two walks.
