DALLAS – In the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association preseason poll, Texas State received votes in the poll. It is the first time since 2013 that the Bobcats have received votes in the initial poll of the year.
Coming off a 14-4 shortened 2020 season, Texas State was one of five Sun Belt Conference programs to receive votes along with Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, Louisiana and South Alabama.
It is the second nation poll that have recognized the Bobcats this season. They came in 30th in the Collegiate Baseball preseason poll.
The NCBWA poll features five 2021 opponents (Texas Tech – 4; Texas – 9; TCU – T-11; Oklahoma – 22; Texas A&M – 33) in the top 35.
