NEW ORLEANS – Junior guard Caleb Asberry earned Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week accolades after leading Texas State in a weekend sweep against Little Rock. It is his first career weekly conference award, and is also the first Bobcat to be honored as player of the week this season.
Asberry averaged 20.5 points per game, 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.0 steals in the two wins this past weekend. After leading the Bobcats with 18 points in the series opener, Asberry put together his third 20-point game of the season with 23 points behind a career-high five made 3-pointers.
