STANFORD, Calif. – After helping lead Texas State to the finals of the Stanford Regional, both Jose Gonzalez and Tristan Stivors were named to the all-region team.
Gonzalez hit three home runs in the regional with all of them coming against Stanford. He is the first to do so against the Cardinal in a regional since Troy Tulowitzki in 2004. The junior outfielder also posted a .474 on-base percentage over the Bobcats' four games.
In his first of two games on the mound, Stivors threw two scoreless innings and struck out five to close out the first meeting with Stanford to send TXST to the regional final.
