EDINBURG — Nick Perez experienced the full gamut of emotions during the tenth inning of Texas State's eventual 4-3 loss to UT Rio Grande Valley.
On the one hand, Perez struck for the go-ahead RBI double in the top half of the frame. On the other hand, the freshman wasn't able to corral an errant throw at first base in the bottom half on what would have been the final out.
Before Tuesday's tilt in Edinburg ever reached that point, the Bobcats (15-6) had to rally from a two-run deficit in the ninth just to extend the game.
