A game of runs has Bobcats on the wrong end of the season finale at South Alabama

MOBILE, Ala. The hottest two teams in the Sun Belt Conference squared off Tuesday night and it was South Alabama who pulled away with a 58-54 victory over Texas State on Senior Night at the Mitchell Center. With the loss, Texas State drops to the No. 3 seed in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament and will get a bye to the quarterfinals round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament that will be played at Strahan Arena on Wednesday, March 11.

The Bobcats (20-11, 13-7 Sun Belt) held a seven-point lead after the final media timeout of the game, but the Jaguars' (20-11, 13-7 Sun Belt) senior guard Andre Fox turned the heat up by scoring the final 10 points of the game for the home team to secure a ticket straight to New Orleans for the conference tournament semifinals.
