Yerry Rodriguez was apparently just named to appear in the Sally League All Star Game as a replacement, and while it is a deserved honor, it is one he should have received as part of the original folks selected. Yerry celebrated the news by throwing 5 shutout innings for Hickory tonight, allowing 2 hits, walking 2 and striking out 3. His ERA on the year is an even 2.00. Pedro Gonzalez hit his 11th and 12th home runs for the year for Hickory, and also drew a walk.
In Frisco, Emmanuel Clase made his second appearance in as many days, which rarely happens with young relievers in the minors unless they are close to being considered a major league option, so that’s interesting.
