MLB Trade Rumors: The New York Yankees have acquired Jameson Taillon from the Pittsburgh Pirates for four prospects, per multiple reports.
Taillon, 29, is a righthanded starting pitcher who was the #2 overall pick in the 2010 draft out of the Woodlands. Taillon struggled to stay healthy, including needing Tommy John surgery in 2014, and didn’t make his major league debut until the 2016 season. A terrific 2018 campaign seemed to indicate he had taken the leap and established himself as a quality top of the rotation pitcher, but he missed much of 2019 and all of 2020 due to surgery to repair his flexor tendon and get a UCL revision.
