Wood leaves game with elbow tightness

Texas Rangers pitcher Hunter Wood left today’s game against the Houston Astros in the middle of the 7th inning. The team has announced he left due to right elbow tightness, and he is going to be evaluated tomorrow.

Wood was called up a week ago from Round Rock to take the place of Wes Benjamin on the Rangers’ active roster, and was making his fourth appearance in the last five days. I would assume that he is headed to the injured list — guys who leave mid-inning due to elbow soreness almost always land on there — and Demarcus Evans would seem to be the most likely candidate to be called up to take his place.
