As expected, the Texas Rangers activated pitcher Dane Dunning from the 15 day injured list today. To make room for Dunning on the active roster, the Rangers optioned pitcher Cole Winn to AAA Round Rock.
The candidates to be sent down seemed like they were going to be Winn, Grant Anderson and Yerry Rodriguez, all of whom have options and all of whom were clinging to bullpen jobs by their fingernails. Winn started out extremely well after being called up for what was expected to be spot duty in mid-April, allowing no runs, no hits and just one walk in his first five appearances in the big leagues.
