Back in September 2023, Josh Sborz's regular season nightmare had finally came to an end. The 29-year-old recorded a 5.50 ERA in 44 games out of the Texas Rangers' bullpen.
Outside of five game stretch to start the year and a 10 game stretch in June where he went 3-0 with a 0.55 ERA, Sborz had four months where his lowest monthly ERA was 5.79 in August. Many were calling for the Rangers to release him, as speculation grew over the year he wouldn't be on the roster by the end of the year.
Nevertheless, the Rangers went into the postseason with Sborz as a main fixture to the backend of the bullpen alongside Aroldis Chapman and Jose Leclerc.
