What Rangers must decide before buying or selling; 3 controllable starting pitchers who could be of intrigue

ME: The news on Bush Wednesday was really disheartening for him. After surgery to create an "internal brace" for his right elbow, nine months of rehab and 8 1/3 scoreless innings in the minors, the ligament failed. It tore completely.

Bush was about to be added back to the Rangers' 40-man roster, perhaps as early as Wednesday, when the news came down. The only option if he wants to continue to play baseball is to undergo a second Tommy John surgery on his right elbow. That would necessitate a 13-14-month recovery time. It means Bush, now 33, would be looking at more than two years away from the major leagues.
