Twins send Duran to Phillies

The Philadelphia Phillies are trading for closer Jhoan Duran from the Minnesota Twins, per reports. In return, the Phillies are getting minor league pitcher Mick Abel and minor league catcher Eduardo Tate.

Duran, 27, has put up a 2.01 ERA and 2.49 FIP for the Twins this season. Under team control through 2027, the righthander has a career 2.47 ERA in 233 innings over 223 games, and was considered one of the most in-demand relievers on the market due to his combination of track record and team control remaining.

The Twins get a pretty hefty package in return.
