Thoughts on a 7-0 Rangers win

Rangers 7, Orioles 0

  • So that’s two days in a row that the Rangers had a no hitter through six innings.
  • And in this game the Rangers actually had a no hitter through seven innings.
  • It was hard to imagine that Jacob deGrom would be able to match, much less top, the greatness of the immortal Jacob Latz, but somehow he did it.
  • So yeah, Jacob deGrom retired the first 18 batters he faced, and really didn’t seem to break a sweat doing it.
  • deGrom didn’t even get to a three ball count on a batter until the 17th batter he faced, when he got to 3-2 on Dylan Carlson before striking him out.
