- Nathan Eovaldi came up big once more, giving the Rangers six shutout innings, with Chris Martin, Robert Garcia and Luke Jackson combining to cover the final three innings. Only one Giant made it past first base all game, and then, only because of a wild pitch.
- The Rangers pitchers also combined for 13 strikeouts while allowing just one walk. Eovaldi accounted for seven of them.
- This was the second straight day that Martin, Garcia and LuJack all pitched, and one would expect them to get at least one day off now, meaning the rest of the pen will have to carry the load for at least one game.
