The Texas Rangers have suspended workouts at the team’s spring facilities in Surprise, Arizona, per multiple reports. In the aftermath of multiple teams announcing that their players have contracted COVID-19, the Rangers are opting to shut down the facilities for now.
The suspension is expected to be short-lived, as the goal is to have expanded COVID-19 protocols in place by early next week, which would allow the facilities to re-open and workouts to resume. The Rangers have not had any recent positive tests, but are opting to implement the shutdown until the new protocols are in place out of what is being described as an abundance of caution.
