Texas Rangers rumors: Carlos Santana, the first baseman/DH who has spent the last eight seasons with the Cleveland Indians, is someone the Rangers are “interested” in, per Jon Heyman on Twitter.
Santana, who turns 32 in April, is a switch-hitter who started his career as a catcher, but generally transitioned to first base, and has been playing mostly first base and DH beginning in 2014. Santana isn’t a huge power guy, but he’s been a 20-30 home run guy pretty consistently with a solid OBP — really, kind of like Shin-Soo Choo back when the Rangers signed him.
