Texas Rangers transactions: Ian Gibaut has been recalled from AAA Nashville, the Rangers announced today. The righthanded reliever takes the roster spot that opened up when Pedro Payano was optioned after yesterday’s game.
Gibaut, 25, was acquired from the Tampa Bay Rays by the Rangers on July 28, 2019, in exchange for a player to be named later or cash. Gibaut was an 11th round pick of the Rays in 2015 out of Tulane. He had one major league appearance with the Rays, allowing 2 runs in 2 innings of work.
