The Texas Rangers have placed lefthanded pitcher Eric Surkamp on release waivers, for the purpose of selling his rights to the Hanwha Eagles of the Korean Baseball Organization.
Surkamp was claimed on waivers by the Rangers from the Oakland A's on June 29. He did not appear in a game in the Rangers system after he was claimed.
The Rangers' 40 man roster now is at 39.
