Stolmy Pimentel clears waivers, is outrighted

Righthanded pitcher Stolmy Pimentel, designated for assignment last week, has cleared waivers and been outrighted

Last week, the Texas Rangers designated righthanded pitcher Stolmy Pimentel for assignment.  Today, the team announced that Pimentel has cleared waivers and has been outrighted to AAA Round Rock.

Pimentel, 25, was claimed by the Rangers off of waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates in April, 2015.  Pimentel had a 3.97 ERA in 11.1 IP for the Rangers prior to being designated for assignment by Texas.  He will presumably be working in the bullpen for Round Rock, and the Rangers will have to either add him to the 40 man roster at some point before the end of the year, or else lose him as a minor league free agent after the season.
