The Rangers will sign big left-handed hitting first baseman Ike Davis to a minor league contract with an invitation to major league spring training, a major league source confirmed Sunday evening.

Davis, 28, spent last season with Oakland, but played part of the 2014 season with Pittsburgh where Rangers manager Jeff Banister was the bench coach.
