Source: Rangers' Joey Gallo to undergo surgery for broken hamate bone in right wrist

The Texas Rangers will likely be without Joey Gallo for all of August.

A source told SportsDay's Evan Grant that Gallo is undergoing surgery to repair a broken hamate bone in his right wrist, likely sidelining him until early September. Gallo is expected to undergo the procedure today.

This likely puts Gallo out until early September. Don't think the Rangers will be overly aggressive in this recovery as they allowed DeShields to be last year. https://t.co/GcWYtJ9036
