Semien to Jays, Simmons to Twins

With spring training just a few weeks away, we are seeing more players find homes, with a pair of shortstops reportedly agreeing to one year deals tonight.

Marcus Semien, who finished third in the American League MVP race in 2019 before a rough 2020 regular season, is leaving the Oakland A’s to join the Toronto Blue Jays. Semien and the Jays have reportedly agreed to terms on a one year deal for $18 million. Though Semien has spent most of his career at shortstop, Ken Rosenthal says he is expected to play second base for the Jays, with Bo Bichette at shortstop.
