Shortstop Corey Seager has been activated from the injured list, the Texas Rangers announced today. To make room for him on the active roster, the Rangers have optioned utility man Jonathan Ornelas has been optioned to AAA Round Rock. In addition, the team announced that pitcher Dane Dunning has cleared waivers and been outrighted to Round Rock.
Seager is back after the minimum ten days following his landing on the injured list with a hamstring strain. He can’t fix the ailing Ranger offense on his own, but the lineup is definitely stronger when he’s in it, and hopefully his return will also help the lineup return to a more acceptable level.
