Scherzer, Turner to LAD, Rizzo to NYY, per reports

The Los Angeles Dodgers are reportedly finalizing a deal to acquire Max Scherzer and Trea Turner from the Washington Nationals, per reports. Scherzer is a free agent after the season, Turner has one year of team control after 2021, and both are among the best players in baseball.

Turner would apparently move to second base once shortstop Corey Seager returns from the injured list. This is reportedly also a hedge, however, against Seager leaving as a free agent this offseason, as Turner could the slide over to shortstop and replace Seager.

The Nationals are getting a pair of extremely well regarded prospects, Josiah Gray and Keibert Ruiz, as well as two other prospects yet to be publicly identified.
