Sam Huff sidelined with hamstring strain

Sam Huff’s hamstring strain is today’s Texas Rangers injury update, per the beat guys on Twitter. General manager Chris Young said Huff has been diagnosed with a grade 2 strain, and will have an MRI in two weeks. He will be rehabbing in the meantime.

This is unfortunate news, as the Rangers reportedly wanted to get Huff significant playing time this spring, and this will limit the amount of action he will end up getting. It could also impact where he starts the 2021 season — had he been healthy for all of camp, there’s a good chance he would have started the season at AAA Round Rock, whose season starts at the same time as the major league season.
