Royce Lewis has torn ACL

Royce Lewis of the Minnesota Twins has suffered a torn ACL, it was announced today. Lewis, a 21 year old infielder who was the #1 overall pick in the 2017 draft, is scheduled to have surgery on Friday and is expected to miss the season.

This is a pretty big blow for the Twins, as Lewis is a consensus top 30 prospect in MLB, and was reportedly expected to start the 2021 season in AA Wichita. Lewis is Rule 5 eligible this offseason, so a solid year from him likely would have resulted in him making his major league debut late this year.
