The New York Yankees have their eyes on onetime highly coveted Rangers prospect Jurickson Profar, according to a report.
Jose Sherman of the New York Post wrote Thursday morning that Profar "has surprisingly caught [the Yankees'] attention" as the team looks to make some trades before rosters have to be frozen ahead of December's Rule 5 draft.
The Yankees would make an intriguing trade partner for the Rangers, considering all the extra pitching New York has available.
Last season Profar, 24, watched one guy after another get called up while he put together his best offensive season in the minors since 2011, when he was considered the best prospect in baseball.
