The Texas Rangers have selected high school infielder Gavin Fein with their first pick in the 2025 MLB Draft, #12 overall. This is the first time since 2018 that the Rangers have taken a prep player with their first round pick.

Fein is a righthanded hitting infielder out of Great Oak High School in Temecula, California. He has played shortstop as a high schooler, but is expected to move to third base as a professional. He is listed at 6’3”, 200 lbs. and turned 18 in March.
