Rangers' Adrian Beltre opens up on possible retirement: 'Mentally, I'm ready to accept the fact that maybe this is it'

ARLINGTON -- Adrian Beltre, the toughest of the tough guys, cried Sunday.

His teammates, the spectators at Globe Life Park and the opposing Seattle Mariners brought Beltre to tears during the sixth inning of the Rangers' 6-1 victory. A tribute to Beltre turned into an outpouring of affection for what could have been his last home game with the Rangers.

"I don't get emotional a lot, but today I did," said Beltre, pondering retirement after 21 seasons. "It was nice to know some people care about me."

The demonstration of affection brought to a head what Beltre described as a "weird" few days.
