ARLINGTON -- Right-hander Anthony Ranaudo stopped by Globe Life Park on Wednesday for a spot start. Ranaudo's next stop is going to be back to Triple-A Round Rock.
The Rangers announced after a 10-2 loss to the Angels on Wednesday that Ranaudo has been optioned to Round Rock. The Rangers will activate reliever Tanner Scheppers off of the disabled list and go with a four-man rotation for now.
That appeared to be the Rangers' plan all along with three off-days coming in the next eight days. But Ranaudo didn't do anything to persuade them otherwise, allowing six runs in the second inning against the Angels.
