NEW YORK -- The Rangers have placed left-hander Martin Perez on the disabled list with a fractured tip of his right thumb. They recalled utility infielder Drew Robinson from Triple-A Round Rock.
Perez injured the thumb when he jammed it into a hotel door on Thursday night. He is the fourth Texas starting pitcher on the disabled list, along with Cole Hamels, A.J. Griffin and Andrew Cashner.
