SEATTLE - Every day, the optics suggest a little stronger that Adrian Beltre will retire at the end of this season.
His last home game of the season in Arlington had the look of a farewell tribute, complete with a video sendoff. On Wednesday in Anaheim, Beltre took the unusual step of participating in "rookie dress up day," donning a flannel shirt, overalls and a straw hat to play farmer tending to his rookie "chicks." Thursday, interim manager Don Wakamatsu repeatedly deferred to Beltre in discussing his usage over this final four-game series.
Felix Hernandez, Beltre's best friend in the game and his long-time foil, laughs at the thought.
