Meet Julio Rangel, the first-time major league pitching coach and former banker tasked with developing the Rangers' arms

GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- Just when you figured the Rangers' wet-behind-the-ears coaching staff might be overmatched after getting plowed 19-2 the first two games into the Chris Woodward era, they beat Cleveland 11-5 Monday. Mike Minor went virtually unscathed. The results practically begged for a parade, only the traffic out here is bad enough as it is.

The good news is, no one is taking these early spring results too seriously. Certainly not the coaches. For people who work so closely with numbers, they're a loose bunch. That's by design. They're determined to keep the results from ruining anyone's day, much less career.
