Martin Perez and the Boston Red Sox have agreed to terms on a one year deal, per multiple reports. The 29 year old left hander, who had spent his entire career with the Texas Rangers until signing with Boston as a free agent last offseason, is reportedly getting $4.5 million with a $500K buyout of a $6.5 million team option for 2022.
Boston signed Perez last year to a one year, $6 million deal with a 2021 option. Perez gave Boston a 4.50 ERA and 4.88 FIP in 62 innings over 12 starts in 2020, leading the club in both categories, but Boston declined his 2021 option.
