Luis Severino tosses seven innings of no-hit ball as New York Yankees defeat Texas Rangers

ARLINGTON, Texas -- In his final tuneup before the postseason, right-hander Luis Severino threw seven innings of no-hit ball as the New York Yankees defeated the Texas Rangers, 3-1, on Monday night.

Severino, who began the season on the injured list and has worked his way back to potentially be the No. 2 starter in New York's postseason rotation, improved to 7-3. He made the most of 94 pitches, striking out seven Rangers along the way. It was the longest no-hit bid of the 28-year-old veteran's career. He threw 63 strikes and improved his ERA to 3.
