The Rangers have recalled reliever Keone Kela, and have sent reliever Luke Jackson back down to AAA
The Texas Rangers have recalled reliever Keone Kela from AA Frisco. To make room for him on the 25 man roster, the Rangers have optioned reliever Luke Jackson.
Kela, 22, was leading the A.L. in appearances when he was sent down at the beginning of the month in an effort to give him a break and limit his innings. Kela appeared in two games for Frisco, on August 6 and August 8, and pitched an inning in each game.
Kela will likely join newly-acquired Sam Dyson in a setup role going forward.
