Jurickson Profar earns a small raise as he agrees to $1.05 million deal with Rangers to avoid arbitration

Profar will earn $1.05 million on a one-year deal. He made $1.005 million last season. Profar was eligible for salary arbitration.

Profar, 24, was in the opening day lineup last season as the left fielder. By the end of April, Profar was back in the minors. He appeared in only 22 games overall with the Rangers, hitting .172 with a .501 OPS.

Profar is out of minor league options. He must be kept on the major league roster or exposed to outright waivers. In that process, a team can have him for $20,000.

The Rangers have two more arbitration-eligible players: relievers Jake Diekman and Keone Kela.
