Josh Jung signing bonus $4.4 million, per report

2019 MLB Draft: Josh Jung’s signing bonus with the Texas Rangers is $4.4 million per Jim Callis on Twitter. Slot for the #8 pick, where Jung was taken, is $5,176,900.

Jung’s bonus is a hair over what slot for the #12 pick would be in the 2019 draft, so the Rangers got a pretty fair sized discount there. The question now is where that savings will be applied. Their 7th round pick, high school pitcher Brandon Sproat, has reportedly indicated that he will be attending the University of Florida, though with the roughly $1 million is savings from signing Jung and Davis Wendzel, the #41 pick, they may have enough money available to change his mind.
