Jon Daniels and Theo Epstein walk into a bar. A trade follows.
It is not quite that simple, but creative sparks fly when Daniels and Epstein get together.
Since Daniels became the Rangers' general manager in November, 2005, he has made 115 trades. Daniels has made more trades (12) with Epstein than any other executive. The breakdown is four deals with Epstein when he ran Boston and eight since he moved to the Chicago Cubs.
They are on a hot streak. Daniels and Epstein have combined on three trades involving nine players since July 19.
"They're an aggressive club,'' Daniels said.
